Storage and Leftovers
Store any leftovers in the fridge covered in plastic wrap for up to 5 days. It is not recommended to freeze the dip as the texture will likely not be the same as when you first made it.
Expert Tips
- Make ahead: the more time this dip has to chill is better as chilling it gives it time for the flavor to intensify. It helps the cucumber release it's flavor and extract the oils from the fresh dill and garlic.
- Cream cheese should be soft: if the cream cheese isn't softened or at room temperature, you'll notice some clumps stick around when you mix it. If you forgot to leave the cream cheese out on the counter, there are a few simple ways you can soften cream cheese quickly.
- Pat dry the cucumber. After peeling and dicing the cucumber, you'll notice the diced cucumbers are very wet. It's recommended you use a paper towel to pat dry the cucumbers as much as possible before transferring them to the dip mixture to avoid a runny dip.
Alternative Ingredients
- Greek Yogurt
- Diced Onion
- Mayonaise
You can serve it with veggies like carrots, celery, and or cucumbers, as well as naan or rye bread, crackers, or potato chips.
A good pairing for dill dip is either rye bread or naan.
