About Andrea
I grew up spending a lot of time in the kitchen, discovering new and delicious recipes and learning how to bake with my mom. She made it effortless to create recipes together because we always used basic, simple ingredients that we usually already had in our kitchen. If there was ever a fancy ingredient in the recipe, you could bet it was substituted with something else!
Once I moved out on my own, I spent more time in the kitchen making my own meals, and I absolutely loved it. The freedom to try new recipes and cook whatever I was craving was so much fun. Like my mom, I avoided fancy ingredients and found ways to make recipes with more common, basic ingredients I always had access to.
I’ve always enjoyed cooking, but my true passion is baking. My absolute favourite thing to do is to bake in the late evening or early morning with a classic early 2000s rom-com playing in the background. Another favourite is Christmas baking with my mom (a tradition we’ve had since the day I could mix cookie batter!) Every year we get up early and spend one entire day making 10-15 desserts to share with family, friends, and neighbours. Oh, and of course we have matching Christmas baking shirts that we dust off once a year.
After years of snapping pictures of the food I made and sending them to friends and family, I wanted to do something more with this passion of mine, and that’s when Cup of Flour was born. It’s been a place for me to store my favorite recipes and share them with the rest of the world. This food blog is my little corner of the internet to share and teach aspiring cooks and bakers how to make delicious seasonal recipes with basic ingredients you can conveniently find at any grocery store or perhaps right at home.
My journey in the kitchen began as a hobby, and over the years, it has blossomed into a love for teaching people how to make home cooking and baking approachable and delicious. I’m thrilled to offer you a collection of over 100 recipes that celebrate the flavors of the seasons while keeping things uncomplicated and fun with basic ingredients in all my recipes.
I’m really happy you’re here. Thanks for stopping by, for your interest in Cup of Flour, and your trust in the kitchen.
