It doesn't get better than homemade chocolate chip muffins that taste like they were made in a bakery and only require 5 simple ingredients!

My boyfriend loves these muffins, and I make plenty of batches throughout the year for his work lunches! They're quick for me to prepare, and they're great afternoon pick-me-up snacks/treats for him! A win-win!

    Ingredients

    • Boxed Golden/Yellow Cake Mix
    • Eggs
    • Butter
    • Milk
    • Chocolate Chips (this recipe uses semi-sweet, but milk chocolate also tastes great)

See the recipe card below for the ingredient measurements.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 - Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a muffin pan with muffin liners.

Step 2 - Mix: In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and milk, then mix with an electric hand mixer. Fold in the chocolate chips.

    Notes

Avoid overmixing the muffin batter to avoid a dense texture. Mix just until combined for a light and fluffy texture.

Consider popping a few chocolate chips into the muffin tops right after removing them from the oven while they're still hot. This makes the muffins look amazing and will be extra chocolaty and delicious!
