Description
This easy apple cinnamon roll dump cake is sweet, scrumptious, and so delicious for fall!
Ingredients
- Canned apple pie filling: one can (21 ounces)
- Cinnamon: 2 teaspoons
- Canned cinnamon rolls: two 8 ct cans, cut into quarters
- Cream cheese frosting: 1 tub, slightly melted
- Yellow cake mix: 1 box
- Butter: ¾ cup, cut into slices
- Brown Sugar: ½ cup
Instructions
- Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Assemble: Mix the canned apples and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in the baking dish and then evenly distribute the cinnamon roll pieces on top. Spread the melted cream cheese frosting on top, sprinkle over the cake mix, and top with slices of butter. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and remaining cinnamon together and sprinkle on top.
- Bake: Bake uncovered on the middle rack for 40-50 minutes, until golden. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes, then drizzle on the icing from the cinnamon roll packages and serve.
Notes
The cream cheese frosting just has to be melted enough for you to pour out. Typically 10-20 seconds and a quick stir is enough to do the trick.Â
Its important that the apples are on the bottom because if they're on top of the cinnamon rolls, the cinnamon rolls will be trapped and be difficult to rise/bake.Â
You may find it easier to serve by scooping with a serving spoon and serving with a bowl. It tends to fall apart because it's very gooey (in a good way)!
