This easy 3 ingredient halloween pie comes together quickly with a few simple ingredients. It's a fun and spooky pie recipe that'll have all the kids and even the adults gasping over it!

This is such a fun pie to make every year! I love switching up the face. Sometimes i'll make a scary face, kinda like a goblin, or I'll do a cut out of a ghost or a pumpkin face. The options are endless and theres so much opportunity for creativity!
People will shower you in compliments when you show up and show out with this pie! It's so festive and a real show stopper (especially for somthing that's SO easy to make).
Ingredients
- Store-bought pie crust (the ones with two sheets, such as Pillsbury)
- Canned cherry pie filling (or any fruit pie filling or you can make your own)!
- Egg
See the recipe card below for the ingredient measurements.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 - Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Step 2 - Assemble: Carefully unroll the first pie sheet onto a 9 inch pie dish, gently pressing it into the dish, letting any excess hang over the sides of the dish. With a fork, poke the bottom of the pie crust a few times. Lay the second sheet out on a flat surface, and use a knife to carve a halloween inspired image (just like carving a pumpkin). Fill the pie with the canned pie filling (without overfilling - you want it to be flat, not piled up), then gently transfer the carved pie sheet onto the pie. Tuck and roll any excess from the pie sheet under the sheet below and press the edges down with a fork or indent using your fingers.

Step 3 - Bake: Whisk the egg in a small bowl and then lightly brush the egg wash over the top of the pie (this makes the pie shiny and golden). Bake the pie for 30-35 minutes, or until the pie is golden in colour. Let the pie rest for 10-15 minutes and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Storage
Store the pie in the fridge for up to one week covered tightly with plastic wrap or tin foil (once room temperature). It can also be stored in the freezer for up to three months in an airtight container.

You can use any canned fruit pie filling you'd like with this recipe, but cherry is a favourite of mine because it's most spooky from the red colour!
Poking holes in the bottom pie crust helps the pie breathe and evenly bake.Â
Egg wash is optional but it makes the pie golden and shiny. The yolk makes it golden and the whites make it shiny! You can also use just the eggs or just the yolk depending on preference.Â
Look up Halloween clip art online to get inspired for the Halloween face or image to carve into the pie shell (that's what I do for this pie and pumpkin carving too)!
To enhance the flavour of this pie (although yummy as is), you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to the pie filling.
