If you like banana cream pie, then you'll love this dessert! If you're serving a lot of people this recipe is a great alternative to banana cream pie, because it tastes similar, but can serve a bigger crowd!

I look forward to making this yummy dessert every year once the warm spring and summer weather rolls around, because it's so light and refreshing after a meal!

    Ingredients

    • Graham cracker crumbs (if you don't have crumbs, you can buy the crackers and blend them in a blender or food processor).
    • Butter
    • Cream cheese
    • Confectioners/powdered sugar
    • Cool whip
    • Bananas
    • Instant vanilla pudding (banana pudding also works, it will just be more banana forward)
    • Milk

See the recipe card below for the ingredient measurements.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 - Make the crust: To a bowl, combine and mix the melted butter and graham cracker crumbs together, and then distribute in a 9x13 baking dish, pressing the mixture into the dish until smooth and solid.

Step 2 - Make the cream cheese layer: To a separate bowl, add the softened cream cheese and beat until smooth with an electric hand mixer. Add the powdered sugar, and mix again. Next, add 1 cup of cool whip and mix until smooth. Spread over the crust and then add a layer of banana slices on top.

    Description

This easy banana cream delight is quick to make and so creamy and delicious!

    Ingredients

    Units
    • Graham cracker crumbs: 2 cups
    • Butter: ½ cup, melted

    • Cream cheese: 8 oz, softened

    • Confectioners/powdered sugar: 1 cup

    Notes

If you prefer the crust be baked, that is also possible. Just be sure to wait to assemble the rest of the dessert until the crust is completely cooled.

If the graham cracker crust feels too loose and not compact enough, just add some more melted butter to it.

If decorating with banana slices, ensure the bananas are sliced right before serving. If sliced too early, they will turn brown by the time the dessert is served.
