This is one of my favourite dips for football Sundays, especially the Super Bowl!

It's easy to prep with minimal ingredients, so it doesn't take long to make! It's a fan favourite that promises to be a hit and is so delicious that you'll always be asked to bring it!

    Why you'll love this recipe

    • Quick: Ready in three simple steps and perfect for busy hosts!
    • Easy: All you need is four ingredients!
    • Perfect for Sharing: A crowd-pleasing appetizer for any occasion.
    • Addictive: The creamy, cheesy texture and delicious flavour is hard to resist!

    Ingredients

    • Cream Cheese: The cream cheese makes this dip super creamy and cheesy. Ensure you're using softened/room-temperature cream cheese to combine it with other ingredients easily!
    • Sour Cream: Sour cream gives the dip a slightly tangy flavour and helps loosen it up so it's not too thick, and a chip can be easily dipped into it!
    • Spinach: Frozen spinach is used for colour and flavour! You'll want to consider thawing and draining it before using it to avoid a runny dip. If you're not sure how to drain it, all you need to do is transfer it to a mesh colander and push it against the mesh until drained.
    • Cheddar Cheese: Cheddar cheese makes the dip cheesy and delicious!

See the recipe card below for the ingredient measurements.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 - Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Step 2 - Mix: In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and spinach together using an electric hand mixer, and then fold in 2 and ¼ cups of cheddar cheese.

    Storage and Leftovers

Store any leftovers covered with plastic wrap or tin foil (once cooled) in the fridge for up to 5 days.

It can be reheated uncovered in the oven at 350 degrees for 15-30 minutes or until warm. It can also be heated in the microwave until warm.

    Kitchen Equipment

    • Mixing Bowl: for mixing the dip ingredients.
    • Electric Hand Mixer: for mixing the cream cheese, sour cream, and spinach.
    • Mesh Colander: for draining the spinach. It's not required, but it will help avoid a runny dip.
    • Cheese Grater: for shredding the cheddar cheese.
    • Baking Dish: 8x8 or other small baking dish that will fit the dip.
    • Measuring Spoons and Cups: for measuring the ingredients.

    Alternative Ingredients

    • Artichokes: Consider adding some canned, drained, and chopped artichokes to the dip mixer. People love this combination!
    • Parmesan: Parmesan cheese will make the dip extra cheesy with an added sharp and tangy flavour that will compliment the spinach dip!
    • Garlic: Garlic powder is a great way to add some extra flavour to the dip! You can also opt for fresh if you prefer.

Want to make this dip even more fun? Throw in some bacon bits for extra flavour and cayenne powder for some heat!
