I'm embarrassed to admit how often I make this chocolate dump cake. I looooove chocolate cake and this one is too easy to make whenever i'm craving it! It reminds me of a hot fudge sunday with brownies, ice cream and hot fudge! So similar and so much better!

I've made it for family parties and occasions several times and everyone's always shocked at how incredibly delicious it is with just four ingredients!

    Ingredients

    • Milk (I use 2% whole milk but any will work)
    • Boxed Chocolate Cake Mix
    • Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
    • Chocolate Chips (milk chocolate and semisweet chocolate chips are both tasty in this recipe but you can really add any time! I've used white chocolate and peanut butter chips before too)

See the recipe card below for the ingredient measurements.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 - Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 2 - Mix: Add the milk, cake mix, and dry pudding mix directly to the baking dish and mix with a fork until combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.

Step 3 - Bake: Bake on the middle rack for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and or chocolate syrup.

    Storage

Store in an airtight container or covered tightly with plastic wrap or tin foil at room temperature for up to one week. The cake can also be stored in the freezer for up to three months in an airtight container.

    Notes

The batter is thick and can be a bit tough to mix but some dry spots are fine and it will still bake great.
