Description

This easy texas trash pie is recipe is ooey, gooey, chocolaty, and so delicious!

Ingredients

  • Frozen deep-dish pie shell (or make a homemade pie crust)
  • Graham crackers (1 cup, crushed)
  • Pretzels (1 cup, crushed)
  • Pecan halves (1 cup)
  • Chocolate chips, semi-sweet (1 cup)
  • Caramel/toffee bits (1 cup)
  • Shredded coconut (1 cup)
  • Sweetened condensed milk (one 14 oz can)
  • Butter, melted (1/2 cup)

Instructions

  1. Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  2. Mix: Add the crushed graham crackers, pretzels, pecans, chocolate chips, caramel bits, coconut, sweetened condensed milk and melted butter to a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly.
  3. Bake: Place the frozen pie shell on a baking sheet and pour the pie filling into it (don't overfill). Bake for 30-35 minutes on the middle rack until slightly browned. Let the pie rest for 30 minutes before cutting into it.

Notes

An easy way to crush the graham crackers and pretzels is to add them to a Ziplock bag and crush them using a rolling pin or meat tenderizer. An alternative is to just chop them with a knife.

If there is leftover pie and it's being stored in the fridge, you'll notice it's quite solid after being chilled. To serve any leftovers, cut a slice and microwave it for 20 seconds or until warm. Alternatively, you can add the pie to the oven at 300° F for about 10 minutes or until warm. It can also be served at room temperature, so another option is to just take out of the fridge 3-4 hours before you plan to serve it.
