Description

This 5 ingredient refried bean dip with cream cheese is creamy, cheesy, and perfect for sharing!

Ingredients

Units
  • Cream Cheese: 4 oz, softened
  • Sour Cream: 1 cup
  • Taco Seasoning: 1 package
  • Refried Beans: one 16 oz can
  • Cheddar Cheese: 2 cups, shredded

*Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Farenheight.
  2. Make the bean mixture: Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning to a large bowl, and mix with an electric hand mixer until smooth. Fold in the refried beans with a rubber spatula, and then 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
  3. Bake the dip: Transfer the dip to an 8-inch baking dish (or equivalent small baking dish) and sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Bake on the middle rack uncovered for 25-30 minutes.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese. If the cream cheese is cold and not at room temperature, it will be challenging to mix and cause clumps in the dip. It's never too late to soften cream cheese, and you can learn how to easily soften cream cheese in various ways!

Bake uncovered. This will ensure the cheese properly melts and gets crispy and golden on the edges.
