Description

This simple prosciutto and mozzarella bruschetta recipe comes together quickly and makes for a great party appetizer!

Ingredients

Units
  • Baguette: 1
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Ball: approx. 1 pound ball
  • Prosciutto: approx. 10 slices
  • Fresh Basil, sliced: 1/3 cup

Instructions

  1. Prepare: Preheat the oven to 400° F and prepare a baking sheet with tin foil and cooking spray.
  2. Toast: Slice the baguette in 1/4 inch slices and drizzle with olive oil. Toast in the oven for 3 minutes, then flip the slices and sprinkle them with salt and pepper and toast for another 3 minutes.
  3. Layer: To each slice of baguette, top with a slice of mozzarella, half a slice of prosciutto, and a garnish of fresh basil.

Notes

For extra flavour, consider cutting a fresh garlic clove in half and rubbing it over the toasted bread when it come out of the oven.

For garnish, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar glaze tastes incredible (it can be a bit messy if drizzled on too early though). I like to just put a bottle by the dish as an option for anyone who wants to drizzle it on their bruschetta.
