Description
This 3 ingredient cherry cobbler with cake mix is incredibly delicious and easy to make!
Ingredients
- Canned Cherry Pie Filling: two 21 oz cans
- Boxed Yellow Cake Mix: one 15.25 oz box
- Butter: 1/2 cup, melted
Instructions
- Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Assemble: Evenly distribute the canned cherry pie filling into a 9x13 baking dish. In a serperate bowl, combine and mix the cake mix and melted butter until a crumbly texture forms and then sprinkle it over the cherry layer.
- Bake: Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven on the middle rack uncovered for 35-45 minutes until the crumble is golden brown. Let the cobbler rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
You'll know when to stop mixing the butter and cake mix when the texture becomes crumbly.
Instead of melting the butter and mixing it with the cobbler, you can also just pour the dry cake mix over the cherry layer and then distribute slices of butter if you find that easier.
If you want your cobbler to be extra thick, you can mix the cherry pie filling with a tablespoon of corn starch.
The cobbler is ready when the top is golden in colour.
Letting the cobbler rest will give it time to cool down and thicken slightly, making it easier to scoop and eat!
